PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polycarbonate-based resin composition uniting such properties as shock resistance, heat resistance, transparency, molding workability and sliding ability. SOLUTION: This composition comprises a polycarbonate having a phenolic terminal group concentration of >=5 mol.% and 1 to 120 pts.wt. of non-vitreous filler (other than carbon materials) based on 100 pts.wt. of the polycarbonate. The non-vitreous filler covers e.g. oxides, hydroxides, inorganic salts (e.g. talc) e.g. silicates, nitrides, sulfides, carbides or metal single substances. The polycarbonate has a viscosity-average molecular weight of about 18,000 to 40,000 and a molecular weight distribution of about 1.8 to 3.5. Such a polycarbonate can be obtained by subjecting an aromatic dihydroxy compound and carbonic acid diester to melt polycondensation in the presence of basic ester exchange catalyst e.g. nitrogen-containing basic compound.
