PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder device with an automatic shoe gap adjustment mechanism giving sureness and excellent stability of automatic shoe gap adjustment operation by simply improving machining work. SOLUTION: The male screw 32 of one shaft of an adjust bolt 30 is screwed irreversibly to a first piston 16 and the clutch surface 38 of an intermediate part is engaged with the clutch to the first conic surface 23a of a cylinder body 11 and also screwed irreversibly to the drive ring 35 engaging by the clutch with the second conic surface 23b of the cylinder body 11 and the shoe gap automatic adjust mechanism is constituted by interposing an O ring 43 between the small diameter part 41 of the adjust bolt 30 and the second piston 25 and when the adjust bolt 30 is rotated so as to be screwed out from the first piston 16, the periphery surface of the ring shape groove 50 of the adjust bolt 30 slide-contacted by the O ring 43 is finished so as to be the surface of the same machining condition.
