886,554. Tiering frames for pallets. ARROWHEAD PRODUCTS Inc. March 4, 1959 [March 10, 1958], No. 7464/59. Class 78 (4). The uprights 7 (Fig. 1) of a two-part tiering frame are arranged to fall outside the bearing area of the pallet on which the frame is mounted and each is connected to the pallet by a twoarmed bracket 14, 15 (Fig. 3) embracing the stringer 2 or other means joining the decks of the pallet. Each upright may be secured to the web 16 of the bracket, as shown in Fig. 3, or to the outside arm 14. The depth of the bracket 14, 15 preferably allows the upright 7 to move relatively to the pallet between a position in which a semi-tubular foot 17 is flush with the base of the pallet, when this is standing on the floor, and a position in which the foot 17 is below the base of the pallet so that it can embrace an upper rail 6 (Fig. 1) of a pallet below in a stack. As shown, the upper rails 6 are joined by ends 13, which need not be parallel to the deck of the pallet, and which take into holes 13<SP>1</SP>. |
