PHENOLIC RESIN COMPOSITION, PHENOLIC RESIN LAMINATE AND METAL FOIL-LAMINATED PHENOLIC RESIN LAMINATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal foil-laminated phenolic resin laminate having excellent flame retardancy and tracking resistance. SOLUTION: This metal foil-laminated phenolic resin laminate is obtained by impregnating a fibrous substrate with a phenolic resin composition, drying the impregnated fibrous substrate to prepare a prepreg, superposing a metal foil on the prepreg and subsequently heating and pressing the combination. The phenolic resin composition contains a melamine-modified novolak resin and a vegetable oil-modified phenolic resin as essential components. The vegetable oil-modified phenolic resin is obtained by reacting an aldehyde compound with a vegetable oil-added phenol compound in the presence of an alkali catalyst. The vegetable oil-added phenol compound is prepared by adding a vegetable oil to a phenol compound.
