PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a softener composition for treatment in bath, capable of suppressing or preventing the occurrence of friction mark or wrinkle, in processing treatment of fibers, especially synthetic fibers and capable of carrying out processing of fibers for keeping excellent qualities. SOLUTION: This softener composition for treatment in bath comprises an anion surfactant such as an alkylbenzene sulfonate, a polyoxyalkylenealkyl ether sulfate or a polyoxyalkylenealkyl ether phosphate and a cationic polymer such as a cationized cellulose, a cationized polyvinyl alcohol, a copolymer of a dialkyldiallyl ammonium salt with an acryl or methacrylamide or a polymer of an acryloxy or methacryloxyalkyltrialkyl ammonium salt.
