The device comprises a magnet (1), an electromagnetic circuit breaker (3), a piezo-electric quartz crystal (4), as well as an electronic circuit (6) and a timer or counter circuit of the type found on bicycles. The device includes a capacitor (13) for memorization of the last speed reached by the skate equipped with the device before it is lifted into the air. The memorization effect is achieved by transformation of the voltage at the capacitor contacts into a square wave signal as is received by the speed counter (17). The quartz crystal acts as a transducer to indicate the position of the roller (on the ground or in the air).
