Data packet transmission control method especially for UMTS

The method involves storing data flow in the sequence as they are received. A multiplexer, which is controlled by a flexibly configurable control system, structures the data according to a desired format. The data flows are written into a buffer memory, such as a RAM or a FIFO register. The multiplexer may be a fed back shift register, which has a slot format and is shifted with a desired speed so that either the left or the right input of the multiplexer is provided at the output.
