A power measuring unit (4) is coupled to at least one antenna of the high frequency system to measure the transmission or reception power. A unit (5) connected to the power measuring unit determines the work done from the measured transmitted or received power by integrating over a defined section of the frequency spectrum with respect to time. The power measuring unit is coupled to the antenna feeder, and may include a direction coupler (3), and a reflectometer. An Independent claim is included for a method of costing high frequency systems.
