The invention relates to a fuel injector for internal combustion engines, comprising a valve member (1) which is guided in a blind hole (3) of a valve body (5) such that it can be axially displaced against a closing force and which at its combustion-chamber end has a conical valve sealing surface (7) with which it cooperates with a conical valve seat surface (9) at the level of the closed end of the blind hole (3) which end protrudes inwards. The fuel injector further comprises a blind hole area downstream of the conical valve seat surface (9) from which spray holes (17) lead into the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. The blind hole wall area (13) in which the spray holes (17) are embodied is conical and the spray holes (17) are at a defined minimum distance from the upper and lower ends of said conical blind hole wall area (13).
