Benzopyranone-beta-D-thioxyloside compounds, process of their preparation, pharmaceutical preparation containing those compounds and their use

Beta-benzopyranone-D-thioxylosides of formula (I) are new. One of R and R1 = =O and the other = R.. The dotted line = double bond conjugated to the R or R1 group that forms a CO moiety. X = S or O. R. and R2 = independently H, 1-4C alkyl, halogen, CF3 or phenyl. R. and R2 together may also form a 7,8,9,10-tetrahydrodibenzo-(b.d) pyran-6-one group or a 1,2,3,4-tetra hydro -9H-xanthene-9-one group. Y = H or aliphatic 2-5C acyl. 3 compounds are specifically claimed, including 4-methyl-2-oxo-2H-1-benzopyran-7-yl . 1,5-dithio-beat-D-xylopranoside. Preparation of (I) and their use as antithrombotics are also claimed. Further claimed are novel intermediates in the prepartion of (I), e.g. 2-ethyl-7-hydroxy-4H-1- benzoepyran-4-one.
