<p>Metal bands, such as steel bands with thickness of 0.2 mm and width of 10 mm being manufactured from a wide starting band by longitudinal severing thereof, are individually wound up in coils, whereby each metal band is wound up in a coil in layers a helix having at least two coils in each layer and after one layer of the coil is wound up, in the next layer the metal band is wound up with opposite lead. The corresponding apparatus for making the above-described process consists of at least two wind-up reels being placed on a joint frame and a moving wind-up head assigned to each of these wind-up reels being placed in the direction of winding in front of wind-up reel assigned thereto, whereby it is arranged shiftable between two extreme positions, defined by a required width of the wound-up coil, in the direction parallel to the wind-up reel axis of rotation, and being movably coupled with rotation of this wind-up reel.</p> |
