PURPOSE: An equalizing apparatus by a common FIFO capable of is adaptably being used according to a change of data amount of transmission data and a method thereof are provided. CONSTITUTION: An equalizing apparatus by a common FIFO, the apparatus comprising; a first FIFO(10) for performing a FIFO operation with respect to data received from a main line in synchronism with a line clock and including a first reading indicator; a second FIFO(20) for performing a FIFO operation with respect to data received from a pre line in synchronism with the line clock and including a second reading indicator; a switch controller(30) for detecting a time difference between data from the first FIFO(10) and the data from the second FIFO(20) in synchronism with the line clock when switching the main line to the pre line, controlling the first or second reading indicator of the first or second FIFO, and coinciding an output of the second FIFO(20) with an output of the first FIFO(10).
