PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an electrostatic charging roller to stably maintain its charging performance over a long period, in a process cartridge including at least a photoreceptor drum and the electrostatic charging roller. SOLUTION: A moving member 72 with a cleaning brush 71 attached thereto is provided above an electrostatic charging roller 17. The moving member 72 is normally energized toward one end by a reciprocating return spring 74 mounted at the other end, and a reciprocating lever 73 normally abutting against a cylindrical cam 76 is mounted at the one end. The moving member 72 is urged to reciprocate in the longitudinal direction of the charging roller 17 by the action of the cylindrical cam 76, and at the same time, the cleaning brush 71 also reciprocates constantly. Therefore, particles, a toner floating inside a device, and dust that are generated during charging can be prevented from clinging to the surface of the charging roller 17.
