PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect abnormality of a battery and a transmission power amplifier and to notify it to the user. SOLUTION: In a portable telephone set using a battery pack 10 as a power source, the voltage for a reception period in a standby state and the voltage for a reception period in a speech state are measured through an A/D converter section 22, and voltage for a transmission period in the case of a speech is measured. The difference between the voltage for a reception period in the standby state and the voltage for the reception period in the speech state and a difference between the voltage for the reception period and the voltage for the transmission period in the speech state are respectively compared with a discrimination value set at a discrimination value table 30, in response to a transmission output control variable and a battery abnormality or an abnormality of a transmission power amplifier is detected, based on the comparison result and a display section 26 displays the result of the detection. |
