PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum control device for an internal combustion engine, which allows adaptable high vacuum restoration. SOLUTION: A brake booster 32 for boosting a depression force of a brake pedal 31 is connected at its vacuum side to an intake manifold 11 of an internal combustion engine through a connection pipe line 33 which is provided therein with a vacuum sensor 36. When the vacuum sensor 36 indicates such a condition that an engine vacuum applied to the brake booster 32 is insufficient, and if the engine speed is low, an ECU 4 controls an automatic transmission 2 in order to control the condition of power transmission between the engine and the transmission 2 in order to increase the engine speed. As a result, the vacuum in an intake manifold 11 is increased so as to restore the engine vacuum applied to the brake booster 32.
