PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high sensitivity and low fog and to improve storage property by incorporating specified compds. into a hydrophilic colloid layer of a silver halide photographic sensitive material. SOLUTION: At least one hydrophilic colloid layer of a silver halide photographic sensitive material contains compds. expressed by formula I, formula II or the like and compds. expressed by formula III. In formula I, each R1 and R4 is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group, alkylcarboxylamide group, arylcarboxylamide group, alkylsulfonamide group, arylsulfonamide group, alkoxy group, aryloxy group or the like, and R5, R21, R22 are alkyl groups, aryl groups or heterocyclic groups. In formula II Z is a group of atoms which form an aromatic ring. In formula III, Z is a group of atoms necessary form a five- or six-member nitrogen-contg. heterocycle, each R23 to R26 is a hydrogen atom or univalent substituent, L1 to L4 are methine groups, and n21 and n22 are 0 or 1.
