PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an output device surely recognize an error when the error occurs at the time of data transfer using a high-order layer (IEEE1284.4). SOLUTION: An information processor 1 and an output device 15 for performing output according to data from the information processor 1 are provided for the communication system, the information processor 1 and output device 15 enable data communication while using an interface composed of the high-order layer (IEEE1284.4) and low-order layer (IEEE1284) and when any error is detected at the time of data communication using the high-order layer by the information processor 1, a prescribed instruction (device ID request) specified for the low-order layer is used for making the output device recognize the occurrence of the error.
