The mower has one or more driven rotors or axes extending towards the ground, on each of which is a mounting (C) accommodating one or removable pivoting knives (M). A top plate (T) covers the mounting, and the two can be thrust apart in the axial direction against spring action. The plate contains inside its edge one or more access holes (15) for a knife-changing tool (W). Adjacent to the hole on the plate underside is a supporting surface (22). The tool can comprise a stem forming a handle and a spreader lever joined to it. Clear of the free end (19) of the lever (18) is a transverse protrusion, the tool being tilted after insertion so that it is supported by the protrusion from the plate. In the radial direction, the hole can be in line with the knife pivot bearing (9) and closer than the latter to the rotor axis (1). |
