PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable formation as a thin film and to accelerate processing by incorporating a specified compd. into one of photographic constituent layers. SOLUTION: A compd. of the formula R11-NHNH-X-R12 is incorporated into one of photographic constituent layers. In the formula, R11 is aryl or a heterocyclic group, -X-R12 is -SO2-R12, -CO-R12, -COCO-R12, -CO-O-R12, -CON(R1)- R12, -COCO-O-R12, -COCO-N(R2)-R12 or -SO2-N(R3)-R12, R12 is PUG (photographically useful group) and R1-R3 are each alkyl which may have a substituent, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or a heterocyclic group. The compd. is a reducing agent, develops a silver halide, becomes an oxidized body by the development, releases the PUG in the development and couples with a color former to form a dye.
