<p>The waste treatment system, as described herein, involves microbial waste degradation within a bioreactor. An inoculation mixture including a cleaning agent and non-pathogenic microorganisms is mixed with solid or liquid waste to be treated. Waste combined with the inoculation mixture is degraded by exposure to a preparative chemical cleaning agent as well as anaerobic and aerobic microbiological processes within a bioreactor. Contaminated water or water combined with contaminated vapor may be input directly into the bioreactor. Effluent emerging from the bioreactor may optionally be filtered and the filtrate reused for washing. The system can be used to treat solid agricultural waste, such as manure or soil, to treat contaminated water such as ground water, industrial process water, agricultural waste water and commercial wash water, as well as to treat contaminated air or vapor.</p> |
