A pen type input device with a camera which is enhanced in ease-of-use by an improved device configuration, which is constructed to be compatible with any object specifying a lateral or longitudinal oblong, and which comprises means for specifying an object and processing descriptions at the same time and means for detecting an erroneously specified object by a user and instructing the user of correct object specifying steps.
