PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture granular bentonite satisfying low cost, dustless property and simplification of transportation, with high efficiency, high productivity and a small number of processes, at a low cost, and to provide a water impervious construction method for forming a water impervious layer of high water imperviousness while preventing the generation of dust. SOLUTION: Granular bentonite is formed of an aggregate of granular material formed by crushing raw bentonite ore in a granular state and contains granular material of 0.074-37.5 mm in grain diameter. At the time of manufacturing this granular bentonite, raw bentonite ore charged in a granulating container 12 is crushed into a granular state by a flexible rigid body 27 rotated at high speed to form granular material of 0.074-37.5 mm in grain diameter. Bentonite mixed soil material and a water impervious construction method are related to the use and application of the granular bentonite.
