<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of being stored in a tool magazine, being changeable by a tool changing arm without interfering with a spindle, and positively recovering chips produced following cutting operations without requiring a suction such as a large scale dust collector. SOLUTION: A chip recovery cover 20 is relatively rotatably installed to the outer periphery of a tool body 12 provided with cutting tips 13 on its top. A chip discharge port 20b is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cover 20. Between the cover 20 and the tool body 12, an engaging pin 28 and an engaging locking member 29 for engagingly locking and holding the cover 20 in a specified position relative to the tool body 12, are provided in a state where the tool body 12 is removed from a spindle 18. Further, a whirl-stopping pin 22 for locking and holding the cover 20 at a specified position in relation to a spindle head 17 when the tool body 12 is mounted to the spindle 18, is provided on the cover 20.</p> |
