PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation facilitating method of a split bearing cap capable of improving assembly workability at the time of assembling it on an engine by facilitating separation of a main body and the split bearing cap part after carrying out mechanical work by reassembling the broken and split connecting rod main body and the split bearing cap part. SOLUTION: It is possible to easily and manually carry out separation of a main body 2 and a split bearing cap part from each other after carrying out reassembly and finish machining of the main body 2 and the bearing cap part and to improve assembly workability at the time of assembling them on an engine as metal projections on each of fractures 2a of the connecting rod main body 2 and the split bearing cap part slightly crush since it is devised to repeat applying and releasing of a load more than three times in a state where the split bearing cap part is installed on the main body 2 before finish machining of a connecting rod 1 in an assembly state after breaking and splitting a bearing cap part 3 from the main body 2 by press-fitting a wedge 18 in a large end part bearing part 5 of the connecting rod 1 integrally forming the main body 2 and the bearing cap part 3 through a split mold 17.
