PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for surface-finishing metal powder sintered parts by which the surface roughness is small and the surfaces can smoothly be formed. SOLUTION: A layer of metal powder is sintered by irradiating the prescribed portion of the layer with laser beams to from a sintered layer 6a. The top of the layer 6a is coated with a layer of the metal powder and this layer is sintered by irradiating the prescribed portion with laser beams to form a sintered layer 6b integrated with the lower sintered layer 6a. These steps are repeated to manufacture metal powder sintered parts A in which a plurality of sintered layers 6a-6c are laminated and integrated with one another. In this case, after or during the manufacture of the metal powder sintered parts A, the stepped part 20 of the end edges of the respective sintered layers 6a-6c forming the surface of the parts A is removed.
