PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly and rapidly induce a biopsy needle to a target. SOLUTION: The tomographic image of a patient is picked up by a photographic device and is displayed on a display device. An operator assigns the position of a marker 50 attached to the patient and a tumor 200 on display images by a mouse. A position measuring instrument measures the positions of the marker 50 attached to the patient and a marker 60 attached to the biopsy needle. A controller determines the positional relation between the front end of the biopsy needle and the position of the tumor 200 from the positional relations between the positions of the marker 50 and the tumor 200, the positions of the marker 50 and the maker 60 and the separately inputted positions of the marker 60 and the front end of the biopsy needle and displays the guidance information for allowing the biopsy needle to arrive at the tumor 200 on a display section. The operator manipulates the biopsy needle by viewing this display so as to allow the biopsy needle to exactly and rapidly arrive at the target.
