PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of automatically operating a device for eliminating fibrous impurities contained in sewage water, making stable sewage treatment possible by automating capturing operation to eliminating operation of fibrous impurities contained in sewage water. SOLUTION: Tilting of a receiving chute 8 for receiving captured fibrous impurities G, jetting of wash water for eliminating the fibrous impurities G captured by a rope 4, and opening/closing action of a rope anti-swaying device 9 are performed synchronously with rope lowering and winding action of submerging a rope 4 with a weight 6 fitted to the lower end, in sewage water circulating in a water tank, and pulling the rope 4 up by a winding means 3.
