PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed screw cooling device which does not obstruct rotation of a feed screw, can rotate a screw shaft smoothly, can cool feed screw smoothly and certainly, is unlikely to generate problems including wear even in the course of long time service, is equipped with a largely prolonged lifetime, allows easy replacement of component(s) in the case of eventual wear, and is applicable regardless of the length of the screw shaft. SOLUTION: A screw shaft 10 is provided with a shaft hole 100, in which an adapter 30 is fitted, and when the shaft 10 rotates together with the adapter 30, a cooling fluid supplied through a flow passage in a seal member 32 provided slidably at the adapter 30 is fed into the shaft hole 100 via a communication passage in the adapter 30, passes through a forward path and return path partitioned by a pipe 22 fitted in the shaft hole 100, cools the screw shaft 10, returns to the communication passage in the adapter 30, and is exhausted to the fixed side via the flow passage in the seal member 32.
