PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a string fasten whose string can be tightened by single- handed work. SOLUTION: This string fasten having single-handed work function is provided with a locking member 2 having a string-passing hole through which a string 4 is passed, and a hook member having a horizontal hole 6a to accommodate the locking member 2 and allow the string 4 to pass in alignment with the string-passing hole in the locking member 2 and having a through hole 10 in a center so as to be fixed to clothes, a bag, shoes, etc., at least on one side surface. In addition, the string stopper is provided with a body having a bottom hole in a bottom part, a spring which is fitted between the locking member 2 and the body 1 so as not to be aligned with the string-passing hole, or an elastic leg with the spring effect on a lower part of the locking member 2.
