PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a function by forming long slits in the height direction at intervals in the longitudinal direction of wall-like improving bodies aligned in two or more directions on the plane. SOLUTION: Wall-like improving bodies 2 are aligned in two or more directions on the plane to restrain the surface ground A, and long slits 3 in the height direction are provided at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the wall-like improving bodies 2 to form the improved ground A. When the ground A is sandy soil having a possibility of being liquefied, the raw ground soil in the slits 3 is substituted with a viscoelastic plastic material, or water stop sheets are installed between adjacent improving bodies 2 across the slits 3 with the raw ground soil left intact. When the ground A is the soft ground having no possibility of being liquefied, the raw ground soil is left in the slits 3. The horizontal force applied to the wall-like improving bodies 2 at the time of an earthquake can be reduced, the seismic force can be absorbed by the frictional force generated on the slits 3, the brittle fracture of the wall-like improving bodies 2 can be prevented, the design strength of the wall-like improving bodies 2 and an upper structure is mitigated, and the execution cost can be reduced.
