PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an unrequired alarm from being issued when the state of a patient is recovering in the selection method of the alarm limit of a patient monitoring device. SOLUTION: In the alarm limit, areas (110B and 120B) in functional relation with the measurement start value 100 of a physiological parameter and the areas (110A and 120A) without the functional relation are set. Thus, in an example in which the start value of a certain physiological parameter value is low (S1) and it is confirmed that the patient is getting better by the rise of the parameter value, since a sufficient margin is taken between the start value and an upper limit 110 in a non-function area 110A (limit value is fixed at U1), the unrequired alarm is not issued in the case of being safe. Also, in the case that the start value is high (160) and it is confirmed that the patient is getting better by the decline of the parameter value, the non-function area 120A (limit value is fixed at L2) is included in a lower limit 120 inversely.
