PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage alloy having a high capacity and excellent in high rate discharge characteristics and low temp. discharge characteristics without deteriorating the cycle life of charge-discharge. SOLUTION: This hydrogen storage alloy is represented by the formula: Mm (Ni5-y-z-wCoyMnzAlw)}x(Ti)t (where Mm is a rare earth element mixture consisting of 40-50 wt.% La, 25-35 wt.% Ce, <=30 wt.% Pr, <=30 wt.% Nd and inevitable impurities, (y), (z), (w), (x) and (t) represent molar ratios to Mm, 0.4<=y<=0.8, 0.25<=z<=0.45, 0.2<=w<=0.4, 0.98<=x<=1.05 and 0<t<=0.2). Since a Ti compd. is dispersed in a texture with the hydrogen storage alloy as a parent phase, the resultant hydrogen storage alloy and an electrode having a long service life and a high capacity and excellent in high rate discharge characteristics and low temp. characteristics can be obtained. |
