MANUFACTURE OF BLANK FOR FRICTION MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a blank for friction materials including a compounded rubber composition in an optimum ratio to exhibit various performances ratisfied by a clutch facing or the like which is the final product of the friction materials. SOLUTION: This method includes a resin impregnating process forming a resin impregnated string by impregnating an impregnating liquid including a thermosetting resin to a long fiber bundle that is the base material and a rubber adhering process adhering rubber on the resin impregnated string. The base rubber of the above compounded rubber is obtained by compounding a first rubber comprising SBR and NBR and a second rubber comprising isoprene rubber in the weight ratio of 90:10 to 50:50. A well balanced excellent performances of a fraction material is exhibited because the isoprene rubber improves roll workability and extruding workability, and the compounded rubber is adhered on the resin impregnated string in a proper ratio.
