PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material having small necessary exposure energy without deteriorating an image quality, without protective layer surface unevenness and improving durability, a method for forming an image and a method for manufacturing the image forming material. SOLUTION: In the image forming material comprising an image forming layer 2 on a support 1 and containing a color material dispersed in a resin binder to absorb a wavelength light of an exposure light source to bring about an ablation by an exposure of high density energy light, a protective layer 4 is laminated on the layer 2, and a dry film thickness d1 of the layer 2 and a dry film thickness d2 of the layer 4 are set to d1>=d2. |
