PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent containing electrolytic active water, preservable for a long period of time, having no deterioration in detergency with time, capable of exhibiting excellent detergency. SOLUTION: This detergent contains electrolytic active water. The pH change after passage of 24 hours is within±0.2 from an initial value under an open condition that the detergent is stored in a container in which the bottom part and the opening part have the same surface area and the ratio of the surface area of the opening part to the volume of the held detergent is 1/6. In the detergent containing electrolytic active water, the change of oxidation reduction potential after passage of 3 hours is within±600 (mv) from an initial value under an open condition that the detergent is stored in the container in which the bottom part and the opening part have the same surface area and the ratio of the surface area of the opening part to the volume of the held detergent is 1/6.
