PURPOSE: A bus protocol for a run packet and ethernet packet communication method for a hand-shaking provide a new interface under the environment of one chip of a software engine and MAC layer, and use both bandwidths of the transmitting/receiving operations, embody a separate packet transmission bus interface about the transmitting/receiving operations, and embody a high-speed packet transmission. CONSTITUTION: Ethernet packet transmission/receiving method collects both states of the receiving FIFO memories of many MAC layers and the transmit FIFO memories, and reports the MAC layers which can perform a transmitting/receiving operation to polling blocks(50). A control block performs a packet receiving operation in the MAC layer, and generates a control signal. A receiving transfer part(30) receives a packet from the MAC layers. The method performs a packet transmission operation about the MAC layers, and generates a control signal, and then transmits a packet to the MAC layers. Thereby, a chip size is reduced, and a burst packet transfer operation is possible.
