PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve controlling stability and damping characteristics by using a carcass ply obtained by coating a rayon chord arrangement with a rubber material exhibiting low permeability to water or the like. SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire is provided with a carcass 6 having a radial structure extending from a tread portion 2 to a bead core 5 of a bead portion 4 via a side wall portion 3. In the pneumatic tire, the carcass 6 is formed of carcass plies 6A, 6B each obtained from coating a rayon chord arrangement with a rubber material exhibiting low permeability to water or the like. The rubber material is formed of a rubber composition derived from mixing 20 to 60% of butyl rubber in the rubber polymer.
