IMPROVED METHOD OF TRANSMITTING PILOT STRENGTH MEASUREMENT MESSAGE IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An improved method of transmitting a pilot strength measurement message in communication system is provided to reduce unnecessary hand-off by optimizing generation of a pilot strength measurement message. CONSTITUTION: This method includes the steps of determining if a message is a pilot strength measurement message; if the message is the pilot strength measurement message, determining if the message is a new pilot strength measurement message; if the message is not the new one, waiting for a new pilot strength measurement message, and if the message is the new one, retransmitting it when acknowledgement is not received, and if the acknowledgement is received, clearing the previous pilot strength measurement message.
