HIGH VOLTAGE PULSE GENERATOR USING NONLINEAR CAPACITOR

PURPOSE: A Small-sized and highly effective high voltage pulse generator is provided by using a long-lived semiconductor switching element. CONSTITUTION: The capacitance of ceramic capacitor decreases when more than the rated voltage is applied. The capacitance decrease is similar to the switch opening operation and non-linear capacitor is proper for the pulse generation based on inductive storage system. The capacitor (C2) is connected between diode (D1) anode and the other side output terminal of the rectification circuit (Diode D1, resistance R1, and capacitor C1). One terminal of the second inductor (L2) is connected to the diode anode and the both side terminals of the non-linear capacitor (C3) connected to the other terminal of the second inductor and the other output terminal of the rectification circuit are connected to load in a row and generates a highly effective pulse.
