PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head decreased in magnetic reluctance and improved in recording characteristic by increasing the joint area of a rear gap part. SOLUTION: A magnetic head formed by jointing a pair of core chip members 10A and 10B of a core chip 16 having a sliding surface 17 with a magnetic medium, and provided with grooves 12 for winding formed on each joint surface of the pair of core chip members and a track groove of a V-shaped cross section formed on the core chip members to traverse the grooves for winding. In this cease, the line 19 forming a bottom face of the track groove of the V-shaped cross section is tilted against the line 20 perpendicular to the sliding surface by 1 deg. or more.
