PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a keyboard without damaging the operability of a key input. SOLUTION: Concerning a keyboard 10 having a compound key merging plural keys and a compound key identifying means for identifying a pressed key in the compound key, an area for inputting by pressing any key is divided into a right hand area 31 to be mainly pressed with a right hand and a left hand area 32 to be mainly pressed with a left hand and when the right and left areas are respectively laterally slid toward the center so as not to overlap the home keys of forefingers of respective right and left hands, the key at the overlapped part is defined as a compound key 38.
