PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save storage capacity of a storage medium for album by enabling prompt display of data with comparatively small display frequency to be predicted by storing the data by enhancing a degree of compression. SOLUTION: Image data which is stored in a frame memory 16 is recorded in the storage medium 33 for album, the image data which is recorded in the storage medium 33 is read, transmitted to a display system and an image is displayed by an image data recording and display part 30. The data to be stored in the storage medium 33 for album is sorted into the one with comparatively large display frequency to be predicted and the other one with the comparatively small display frequency to be predicted, the degree of compression is enhanced for the data with the comparatively small display frequency to be predicted (for example, recompression is performed for the data which is already compressed by reduction of information by making the data into archives) and the data is stored. Therefore, an initial purpose is achieved in most case if only retrieval of the data with the large display frequency is performed when a required image to be displayed is retrieved.
