摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the possibility of distortion of the liquid crystal cell in the part being in contact with the fixation frame or in a part on the periphery of this part in contact with the fixation frame, to uniformly maintain the space between two electrode substrates, and thereby improves the display quality and manufacturing yield of the device by enhancing the rigidity of a part of a liquid crystal cell, that is clamped with a fixation frame, as compared with the rigidity of the other part of the liquid crystal cell. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal cell of this device, in a part being in contact with a leg 18c of a front bezel 18a, of a picture-frame region [B] on an array substrate, first columnar projections 23 each having a prescribed height are formed in an arrangement density of e.g. one per pixel and also, in the other part of the picture-frame region [B] on the array substrate, second columnar projections 24 are formed in an arrangement density of e.g. one per five pixels. Thus, the leg 18c of the front bezel 18a is in contact with the liquid crystal cell in the part in which the first projections 23 are formed in a higher arrangement density and since the rigidity of this part is enhanced, this liquid crystal cell of the device is prevented from being distorted and the space between both the substrates is uniformly maintained.
