PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make obtainable a high-quality image by preventing a faulty transfer such as the scattering or the penetration of toner in the case of transferring a toner image from an image carrier to transfer material. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a photoreceptor drum (image carrier) 1, a transfer belt (transfer means) 12 transferring the toner image from the drum 1 to the transfer material P, and a transfer upper guide 8a and a transfer lower guide 8b guiding the transfer material P to a transfer nip (transfer point) T. In such a case, assuming that a distance between the drum 1 and the leading edge of the guide 8b is A and a gap between the guides 8a and 8b just before a transfer part is B, they are set to 0.5 mm<=A<=2 mm and 0.5 mm<=B<=2 mm.
