PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make dimension contractible by increasing the freedom degree of design of a device shape. SOLUTION: This gear device comprises a casing 701, external tooth gear 721 as an output member arranged in the casing 701, plurality of eccentric unit shafts 711 arranged in an outer peripheral side of the external tooth gear 721 to be supported rotatably to the casing 701, eccentric unit 711A provided in the eccentric unit shaft 711, and an internal tooth rocking unit 712A meshed with the external tooth gear to insert the eccentric unit 711 also to be rockingly rotated by its rotation so as to rotate the external tooth gear. In this case, the forming range of an internal tooth 713 of the internal tooth rocking unit 712A is set to only partly of the circumference.
