The fuel supply system has a gas holder (2) which prepares the specific gas under high pressure for operation. There is a dosing unit (7) which allows the required amount of gas to pass through. A pressure-reducing turbine (4) is switched between the gas holder and the dosing unit, in order to reduce the gas to a lower excess pressure. In this way developing energy is emitted as mechanical power which is coupled by an element (8) in the engines (1) drive (10).
