PREVENTIVES/REMEDIES FOR ARTERIOSCLEROSIS AND POST-PTCA REANGIOSTENOSIS

Medicinal compositions for preventing or treating angiostenosis which contain as the main ingredient compounds inhibiting the MK function in vascular tissues. These compositions are useful in preventing and treating reangiostenosis following percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) or angiostenosis caused by arteriosclerosis. As the compounds inhibiting the MK function, use can be made of an antisense oligonucleotide which binds to the single-stranded mRNA segment transcribed from MK gene and thus inhibiting the MK protein synthesis in cells and an antibody against MK protein.
