USE OF SUPPRESSOR tRNA'S TO REGULATE CYTOTOXICITY DURING THE PRODUCTION OF RECOMBINANT GENE PRODUCTS

A method for regulating the expression of a toxic protein in a cell destined to produce a recombinant gene product is disclosed. The method relies on the introduction of a termination codon into the coding sequence of the toxic protein and complementation with a suppressor tRNA.
