A gas burner has a supply conduit 3 communicating via channels 4 to an annular passage 5 formed by turning away the lands between the channels 4 in the lower part 2 of the burner. Gas at a lower pressure is fed into this passage 5 as shown at 6 and burns as a maintaining flame should the exit velocity of the gas through the channels 4 exceed the burning rate. |
