The bicycle side-stand comprises one or more segments (2,5) which are movably connected together by hinges or strap-connections (3). The segments can be folded up to a plane which can be rigidly stabilised by a manually operated flap device (4). The bearing surface of the rigid plane is larger than that of the bicycle side-stands. The side-stand segments can be made of metallic as well as non-metallic materials.
